My biggest temensis so far

Was de-salting my gear at a freshwater ground, a popper to be more specific when suddenly BAMMZ! I did not even work the popper, just constant cranking it in. I saw the fish so did my cap cap but too bad during one of its headshakes it managed to shook off the trebles. Toman suspect 2kg plus.

Later I changed to fly and got a baby temensis around 9inch which I kept as pet fishes food.

As i was near giving up, I decided to give an old lure a try. This lure is si bey old, got it during my secondary school days and never got me any catch yet. I casted it a few times working it differently each time, a small fish suspect 1 feet toman did follow it but never took it. Then I decided to crank it fast and shallow when suddenly BAMMZ! Haha the BAMMZ was shiok but still can't compare to a kim's. I saw it flipped displaying vibrant orange fins, haha a temensis for sure and it's a biggie. It fought hard but not as hard as I thought a temensis this size would. Suspect it's a brooding pair as brooders are weak fighters. It wasn't easy to lip grip this fellow as fight was shorter and weaker than expected so I assume he still had plenty of energy left when I pulled him in.

This is my 2nd 'trophy' from a Designated Fishing Ground. DFG's biggies are always a bit more extra shiok

Released.

Singapore is only this small, our fishing grounds are even smaller. Protect, not da-pao.
Sometimes I da-pao to feed my pet fishes.

The other day while fishing, I casted my small minnow, retrieve pretty fast and BAMM! Something wacked it but too bad no hookup. But SONG lei the way it wacked my lure.

Anyway got hit means got hope.

Then I change to one of my favorites, a popper that had produced but also disappoint. On one of my cast with very slow retrieve, very light pop and very long pause suddenly BOOMZ! SPLASH! Lure pulled into water, rod bent, line taut. Ho sey lar, a loud decisive wack so definitely a decent fish. Then it jump and then started to pull line. SONG lar very long never this feeling liao. A fighter on your line, rod twitching to contained the shock, line peeling from power dashes I don't know to describe but SHOIK.I striked hard in hope the trebles will sink deeper then attempted to switch on my cap cam with my cranking hand. I WANT A VIDEO OF THIS BEAUTY! Suddenly it jump whole body clearing the water WOW SWEE LAR but when it landed back into the water I can feel the line slack. OH NO I quickly crank back to find tension but it was gone.

I lost the fish. BEY TA HAN I let out a loud 'FUCK!'

All the while I keep switching lures, casting blindly randomly. One one occasion with a bigger popper I felt something grab my popper, suspect on the feather and then it let go. It was very fast. Again no hookup. Definitely not surface debris.

3 hits in one session. SONG! SONG! SONG! The line pulling and jumps were especially encouraging and somehow u don't feel tired when there r hits

Was fishing the other day, no bites no nothing not even a small one nor even a chase. Wow, did someone trawl up everything or drop a barrel or pesticide overnight? Very hopeless but you never say never in fishing.

Haha, after some preserverance they came or decided to bite. Have a 40mins happy hour of baby temensis (11inchers or less). It was fun no doubt, great for hookset and rod bending practice. I landed so many I lost count

If you are looking for a nice freshwater spot to lure, this is one of them but of course don't expect magic you still need to use your eyes & ears & plenty of luck. I landed my 2nd all-time best fighter here!

I released all except for one to feed my pet fishes.
